Any true Brit will know when you start opening your windows for some fresh air you will be greeted by the sounds of buzzing flies not long after.

One cleaning fan has revealed what he uses to keep bugs out of his home and people are stunned.

The repair fan who goes by @jmg8tor shared his hack in a TikTok video online.

Claiming he's been using the hack for years he said his trick was WD40.

He said: "I did this a year ago."

"Take your WD 40, spray it around your windows. It's gonna keep the bugs and the spiders away," he added.

The cleaning fan said the aerosol lubricant will even stop wasps and bees building nests near your house.

He said: "If you spray it up there on your soffits and underneath your porch, it's gonna keep the bees and the wasps for making as many nests."

The gator fan explained the best part of this hack is it doesn't stain your window sills or doors.

He said: "And, no, it's not gonna stain anything."

He concluded: "That's right. You heard it here first."

The cleaning fan's video went viral with over 13.1 million views and people were stunned by the hack.

One user said: "WD40 for everything all around the world."

Another said: "I’m convinced that anything can be fixed with either WD40 or duct tape."

Many users said they had already tested the hack.

One user said: "I tried it and yes it works. I got a wasp nest in the same spot on my porch for years, until I tried this. No wasp nests anymore."

Another said: "I sprayed around my windows. For years I have gotten yellowjackets and wasps going in frames and now nothing, haven't seen a single one. It works!"
